Background Checks (JDP) - US only

Learn how to enable the JDP Background Checks Power-Up, choose a screening package, and add background checks to your registration forms.

Background Checks is a Power-Up integration with JDP that lets you screen coaches, volunteers, and staff directly within TeamLinkt during registration.

Requirements

  • Available to US-based organizations only

  • A TeamLinkt account with Power-Ups access

Enable the Power-Up

  1. Go to Add-ons in the left sidebar and click the rocket icon to open the Power-Ups marketplace.

  2. Find Background Checks and click it to open the overview.

  3. Click Enable.

  4. You'll be redirected to set up your JDP account. Fill in your organization details.

    • If you don't have an External ID, leave that field blank.

    • Once that's done, submit the necessary documents to JDP. And they will create your account and send a confirmation email once your info is verified.

Note : JDP requires one (1) of the following, Business License (or License Number),Certificate of Insurance (COI), Articles of Incorporation, W9, Employee Identification Number (EIN), Tax Identification Number (TIN) or Federal Identification Number (FIN) to be emailed to: credentialing@jdp.com

Background Check Packages

Once enabled, you can choose from three screening packages. All prices are in USD.

  • Pro — $8.00/check

    • SSN ID search

    • JDP national criminal search + developed names

    • JDP national sex offender records search

  • All-Star — $18.00/check

    • SSN ID search

    • JDP national criminal search + developed names

    • JDP national sex offender records search

    • County criminal records search for current county only

  • Hall of Fame — $29.00/check

    • SSN ID search

    • JDP national criminal search + developed names

    • JDP national sex offender records search

    • County criminal records search for 7-year residence history

Note: The All-star and Hall of Fame packages may be subject to additional pass through fees if the cost of searching county-level databases exceeds $40.00 USD. If county-level database searches are less than $40 USD, the cost will be the same as the list price (no additional pass through fees are incured). If pass through fees exceed $40, you will be liable for the additional cost.

Add a Background Check to a Registration Form

  1. Go to Registration and open the form you want to add a background check to.

  2. Find the group you want to require a check for and click Edit.

  3. Go to the Requirements tab.

  4. Scroll down to the Compliance section and check Run background check.

  5. Select your preferred package.

  6. Optionally, enter an amount in Charge participant for background check to pass the cost on to registrants.

  7. Under Participants with existing background checks, set a date if you want to skip checks already completed after a certain date.

  8. Click Save.

Tracking Background check Status

  1. Navigate to the Compliance section under Members to track background check status and view results

  2. Status indicates the current stage of the background check process for each person who submitted the form and are automatically updated

    • Pending = form submitted and awaiting the coach/volunteer to complete the JDP pre-screening questionnaire

    • In review = pre-screening questionnaire has been submitted and JDP is completing the background check

    • Passed = the background check has been completed and no criminal record history was found

    • Failed = the background check has been completed and one or more criminal record(s) were found

  3. Use the 'View' button to access the full report details, add notes, change the status of 'Failed' checks to 'Cleared', or cancel checks in a 'Pending' state

  4. Use the Export button to download a spreadsheet containing all information found in the compliance table
