Adding A Custom Domain (GoDaddy)

Instructions for linking up a custom domain to your TeamLinkt website if your domain name is registered in GoDaddy.

In TeamLinkt:

Classic Website Editor:

  1. Go to the Website tab and click Manage

  2. Click the Settings button in the upper right

  3. Click the Site Information section on the left

  4. Type in your domain name under Custom Domain and click save

    1. Make sure to remove any https:// or www. from your domain name when entering. E.g. if your domain name is example.com, enter example.com and not https://www.example.com or www.example.com or https://example.com

Website Builder:

  1. Go to the Website tab and click Builder

  2. Click Site Settings at the top

  3. Go to the Site Info tab

  4. Type in your domain name under Custom Domain and click save

    1. Make sure to remove any https:// or www. from your domain name when entering. E.g. if your domain name is example.com, enter example.com and not https://www.example.com or www.example.com or https://example.com

In GoDaddy:

  1. Select the domain settings for the appropriate domain

  2. Select Manage DNS

  3. If there is already a CNAME record for www, then edit it (click the pencil icon). Otherwise select Add:

    • Host: Enter “www” (do not enter the quotes)

    • Points to: Enter “@” or "example.com". Based on your provider @ may need to be your domain name (again, do not enter the quotes)

    • The TTL field can be left alone

    • Click the Save button

  4. If there is already a A record then edit it (click the pencil icon).

    • Host: Enter "@" or "example.com" (depends on provider, don't copy quotes)

    • Value: 15.197.204.149

    • Don't need to change TTL field

    • Click Save Button

Note: you will also want to use GoDaddy Nameservers if you are not already.


When you're done, it'll look something like this:
